Hip Pain in Denver CO
How Does This Happen?
The most common cause of hip pain is a slight misalignment of the hip due to trauma, repeated activities, or postural distortions. Other causes can include tumors, infection, change in blood supply, and problems from birth.
What Can I Do To Help Myself?
Often times people notice relief from hip pain with rest, ice, or cold packs. Never apply ice directly to your skin. Use a towel between your skin and the ice. Applications should be 5-20 minutes, three times a day. You may also sleep on your unaffected hip, sleep on your back, use extra pillows to help guard your hips at night, and massage your hip.
It’s Still Bothering Me, Now What?
Patients are frequently amazed at how gentle “adjustments” can help with hip pain. Adjustment means to gently re-align the hip (or joints) by application of hands or an instrument. Usually hip problems are related to structural misalignments that can be addressed conservatively without drugs or surgery.
