Denver Chiropractor explores; How To Survive The Computer Terminal

Sitting in front of computer screens makes us sick. It causes headaches and other problems. Over time it can lead to permanent damage to the spine and nervous system. But don’t give up hope! Read on to find the most important thing you can do to survive this modern menace.

There is nothing natural about sitting still for hours interacting with an inanimate object. It’s this stillness and the awkward postures associated with computer use that can cause us to get sick.

Just observe for a moment, where your head and neck are right now. If you’re like most computer users, your head is pitched slightly forward of its normal posture, as you lean toward the screen to take in information. Over time this causes the bones of the neck to shift out of their normal alignment. It impacts the nerves that go from the neck into the head and can lead to symptoms like:

  • Headache,
  • Neck pain,
  • Blurred vision,
  • Dizziness,
  • Nausea,
  • Loss of memory,
  • Difficulty sleeping and
  • Ringing in the ears.

The best way to help yourself is to take lots of breaks and stretch every 45-50 minutes. If you need a good office stretch program call (303) 394-2273, we’ll provide one FREE.

A standing desk is also an option. Read this endorsement from a prominent local attorney.

Dr. V is a healer. He has helped me correct an improper curvature of my neck and virtually eliminated my lower back pain from a subluxation and bulging spinal disc – all created by years of hunching over a desk all day working on a computer.

Unlike many physicians who too often just treat the symptoms of disease, Dr. V identifies and treats the real problem. He is a doctor of health, not a doctor of disease. The cure in my case was achieved by following his advice to use a stand up desk and specially designed stool instead of sitting all the time.

Listen to him, follow his advice, and you will most likely regain your health. -K. Preston Oade, Esq.

Decide to stretch regularly and create a better work environment. If you need more help or would like to schedule a free ergonomics work shop for your office call (303) 394-2273 (CARE).
