Bursitis in Denver CO
How Does This Happen?
Bursae are fluid filled sacks that are in the elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, and Achilles tendons. Due to stress, overuse, or injury to any of these joints the sac or bursa may swell, causing a painful condition called bursitis. Various activities may cause bursitis, especially gardening, raking, carpentry, shoveling, painting, scrubbing, tennis, golf, throwing, pitching, and incorrect posture. Bursitis is especially prevalent in people with: rheumatoid arthritis, gout, psoriatic arthritis, and thyroid problems. People who take medications and the aged are also commonly affected.
What Can I do To Help Myself?
Stop doing the activities that aggravate your bursitis. A gradual conditioning period is advisable for any new physical activity. Using ice over the painful region can help.
It’s Still Bothering Me, Now What?
We specialize in helping the various joints of the body to function normally. Our techniques are used on the arms and legs to reduce pressure on the sacs involved with bursitis. More importantly, as your body regains its normal alignment under our care, the nerves that control every structure, including the bursal sacs, will work better and your body will be better able to heal itself.
